One of my famous ancestors

Home sick today (again!) after throwing up most of Saturday night and Sunday (I'll NEVER eat at Subway again!). To pass the time when not sleeping or having a bath, I decided to do a little research online. I knew that I had a relative at the Battle of the Nile with Admiral Nelson but didn't know much. Still don't know a lot but here's what I discovered.

My Great Great Great Grandfather (I'll explain below) was...

Sir Benjamin HALLOWELL [1761 - 1834] (Click for detailed biography)
Captain of the Swiftsure. Vice-Admiral of the White; Commander-in-Chief in the River Medway; Knight Commander of the most honourable Military Order of the Bath, and of the Neapolitan Order of St. Ferdinand and of Merit.
The mast of the Orient, the French flagship under Commander in Chief Brueys (who was killed in the battle) fell on the deck of the Swiftsure during the battle. Capt. Hallowell later had it made into a coffin which was presented to Nelson. Nelson would display the coffin in his cabin.

Ok, so here is the trail from Naval Captain to moi. My mother is Sylvia Dawn, daughter of Cecily, daughter of Rose Meredyth, daughter of Minnie, daughter of Benjamin Hallowell.
