I couldn't make this SH%T up...

Wednesday, November 01, 2006
Today on CBC radio's Wild Rose Forum, they're discussing adoption, with special emphasis on Madonna's recent attempt at adopting a baby boy from Malawi. One caller, an "older" sounding gentleman (50s - 60s?), said the following (as close to a real quote as I can remember)...

I'm wondering if she doesn't just want some big black stud around when she's 65 ...

At that point, the host cut him off and went to the next caller.

Only in Alberta.

How gross!

I just read an interesting discussion on the fad of stars adopting foreign children.

But I think I would rather live with Madonna than in an orphanage in Zambia, was it Zambia?

oops, Malawi - must be another star with the babe from Zambia.

Excellent. Worked for Woody Allen, no?

Well, you have to admit... that could have a ring of truth to it. This is Madonna, after all.

Oh my god! That is hilarious, amazing it made it to air, what a dirty old man. Like Guy Richie would ever get boring!

I have been following

"Madonna: The Adoption Tour"

(much better than the "Mel Gibson:The Apology Tour")for the past week, Oprah, Dateline, tomorrow Good Morning America and Regis and Kelly.

And I hope this brings the awareness to people that these children need help. Some rumours were that Madonna had "bought" the speed and adoption...she reminded viewers, that it doesn't matter how rich or famous you are in Africa, it's Africa they have their own slow way of doing things.

Two years ago she spent/invested 3 million dollars to improve orphanages in the area...while slowly aiming to adopt a child there.

There is no line up to adopt children in Africa that the rich butt ahead to adopt. Hopefully, more people willbe inspired by Jolie and Madonna to assist these lost children.

As for al the negative media coverage on this story, as soon as one of those shallow bastards puts 3 million $ into investing in helping other people, then their word will be of interest to me.

She was always going to be criticised for this - she's criticised for anything she does when she leaves her house. She gave a TV interview on one of our news programmes and I applaud her reasons for helping out this boy and the orphanage that was trying to look after him.

"Like Guy Richie could ever get boring." Candy cracks me up! Guy got boring sometime about the same time he hooked up with Madonna, surely. Certainly he hasn't made a good film since Snatch.
