The Mitten

Monday, December 04, 2006

Well here it is. The mitten. Sure it looks really good - skulls are great. And you will notice that i did indeed reverse the colours. It's not my fault though, the shading on the pattern was confusing. I will try again however. Just using bigger needles. I've also included one of the flashy flag-style stars on the tree. If you look closely you can see the little tooth mark on the bottom left. Stupid cat.

I threw this in so that you can compare the size of the mitten to the size of my (average) hand. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Yes my skin is THAT fair (I'm brighter than the tree lights). Unfortunately I couldn't get a decent shot of the freckles. I'll try again some other time. My hand is right beside the mitten - who has hands small enough to fit into one of these?

Those mittens are really cute and look very well knitted, but yikes - they sure are small. Your hands would be pretty squashy in those.

I just took up knitting recently. This whole "kntting something from a pattern" thing is really daunting to me, so I am totally impressed with your cool skull mitten, regardless of its size.

As if to taunt me, you post pictures of your knitting work... Grrrrr! But those look great, very Alkaline Trio! Will they keep our hands warm on our Kilimanjaro ascent?

And that looks like a fake tree, which makes me like you even more. No need to chop down a perfectly healthy tree just to keep one in the house for a couple of weeks, is there?

But wool stretches, no? So it's all good.

The pirate mittens are adorable - if you want to sell them, I'll buy them for my daughter who has tiny hands, unlike her mother who has magnificent whumpers.
