My 300th Post

Monday, January 29, 2007
Well, here it is. I made it to 300. It's actually more than that since I started blogging but I've changed the blog address a couple of times for various reasons since I first began so it's 300 posts on THIS blog. What to talk about? I have no idea. There's not much happening in the news lately that I feel like commenting on. The fan injury to my arm looks much worse than it did yesterday - not surprising when I continue to keep running into things with that arm.

I tried to watch Children of Men this weekend. Despite the great reviews it received from Wandering Coyote, Shea, and Adam, I didn't like it. I was bored after 40 minutes and turned it off. Sorry guys. The premise behind the movie (based on a PD James book....!) is fascinating but it just didn't translate onto the screen for me. I didn't find Clive Owen or Julianne Moore believable. The only enjoyable part was Michael Caine whom I normally can't stand. Go figure.

Managed to download and watch the entire first season of Spaced. From the gang that brought us "Shaun of the Dead" and the upcoming "Hot Fuzz", it was hilarious. Why this hasn't been made available on DVD in North America is beyond me. The same with QI...but I'm not bitter. However, I cannot justify the expense (or the hassel in dealing with the cable company) to get digital cable/satellite just to get BBC Canada.

I've also been recently introduced to the wonder that is Ross Noble. I find that I must try to keep from listening/watching any of his work while I'm in the office as it tends to send me into fits of laughter. Try to explain the concept of "flying boobage" to your boss and see if you don't get fired. You can catch his four part series on BBC Radio 4 by clicking HERE, or head on over to YouTube to see him in action. If you know who he is but have often wondered how he happened to turn out the way he did, this should explain it. Although that hair is still a mystery.

And of course, he's yet another British gift to the world that seems to skip the wilds of Canada. Why oh why? If you need a quick giggle today, check out this clip. Or head on over to this one at YouTube which I couldn't post but is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

300 posts!

Way to go and it's been great to read along and talk and get to know you on your blog!

Guess what, I've been able to sit here just now, watching these videos while bleaching my roots. You gave me some happy diversion through a pesky chore.

Happy BD 300 posts!

300. You think blogger should hand out a medal or a badge for such an esteemed goal!

Well done, Karen. Glad you're enjoying Mr Noble. While I wouldn't go out of my way to watch him, I usually find he's reasonably amusing. Thanks for the heads-up on Children of Men, too. I'm not sure I was that interested in the first place, and I think you've just unsold it to me!
