'Tis the Season for Great Hockey

Canada will be playing in the gold medal game of the World Junior Hockey Championships for the 6th straight year. We've won the past two. Suh-weet. Looks like we'll be playing either Sweden or Russia (please please let it be Russia!!!) in the final, that game is to be decided later today. However, according to TSN, a Canadian team hasn't won gold in Europe (the tournament is in Sweden this year) in a decade. About time we broke that streak I'd say.

The other semi-final gets underway at 1:30pm EST (that's 11:30 Edmonton time) and you can catch it on TSN in HD or on TSN.ca. Check it out if you get a chance. The gold medal game gets underway on Friday the 5th at 1:30pm EST - not sure yet if it'll be available online. Go Canada...or as one particular individual is so fond of saying ... Allez Canadiens!

UPDATE: Canada will be facing Russia in the final (again!) WOOOOO HOOOOO! Russia beat Sweden 4 - 2.

I don't know much about hockey, tho' I did go to one game once... Red and I left after the second "period", not knowing how many innings or halves or quarters there would be. Sheesh, that game goes on, huh?!

We used to go to watch the Romford Raiders as teenagers - a friend used to get us tickets for free. I'm not sure they were every very good.

How long? Word verification: upvquqkg
