Changes to Book List (#2)

Friday, May 18, 2007
EDITED... A couple of books on my list (Bitter Chocolate and Charlemagne) are only currently available in hardcover. These are far too difficult for reading on the bus or perusing while in the bath (my fave reading spot). Therefore, I've switched them out for two others and moved them back to my Amazon Wish List. The new books I've added are Krakatoa by Simon Winchester Scurvy by Stephen Brown and Books, Banks, and Buttons by Chiara Frugoni (translated by William McCuaig).

Still no interest from anyone else in making a summer reading list (note: Wandering Coyote has already expressed interest and made her own list!)

UPDATE: Beth, the world's biggest 'Canes fan has taken up the challenge along with myself and Wandering Coyote, and Shea the newest Fox employee is going to be diving into some Jules Verne pretty soon. Woo hoo! Makeing the blogosphere a bit more edjumacated one book at a time!

INteresting - I'm going to be reading "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne within the next week or so - basically because it's a huge influence on the show LOST, which I happen to be obsessed with.

Hey, stop by the blog and comment on my latest entry, "The Greatest Thing I've Ever Written" - I'd like to hear what you think

I am currently reading HL Menckens book compiled of his journals on the scopes trial - always wonderful biting commnetary . and I am reading Tom Robbins Jitterbug Perfume. I just finished Christopher Moores book A Dirty Job. I still have yet to finish 1491 and occassionally pick up 1776 and read a chapter here and there. Whew. So, I guess this summer I will finish what I started and then attempt to read You Suck by Christopher Moore and some more Carl Hiassen before I get sucked into more serious stories.

OK - I'll commit to reading 5 books this summer. I'll post a list this weekend.

Naturally I will be reading this summer, but other than Blindess, which I am still awaiting from Amazon, I don't have any others in mind yet. Am hitting the library this afternoon, where which should help me get together a wishlist.
