...I'd be really pissed off.

At nine this morning I had an appointment (my third and final free one) with G at the gym. You can probably already see where this is heading...but I must tell the whole tale. You're all aware what happened last time. Well, we scheduled my third appointment for today at noon originally. However, at the end of the workout on Wednesday, he asked if we could move it to earlier in the morning as he had an event he really wanted to attend that afternoon. I'm generally a nice person and like to accommodate others so I said sure. I'm up at that time of the day anyways.

Fast forward to this morning. My sister in law picked me up bright and early and we headed off to the gym. As we entered the parking lot, I turned to her and jokingly said I wonder if he's going to be here this morning. We had a good laugh at the thought and headed inside to see what would happen. As they'd only been open for only an hour, there wasn't very many people there and I didn't see G in his blue vest anywhere. P was working and I mentioned to her (with a sideways smile at my sister in law) that I had a 9am appointment with G. Sure enough he wasn't in "yet" but she assured me that if I went in, got changed/stretched, he'd be here any minute and meet me at the desk.

We headed to the locker room, both giggling at the pure absurdity of the whole situation. I popped by the desk again a few moments later to see if he had shown up (it was now 5 minutes past the hour). Nope and she couldn't contact him by cell phone which she should be able to do. Oddly enough, because I was prepared for him not showing up again, I wasn't upset. Sure I was annoyed and disappointed but I wasn't in tears with anger as I was the week before. The sister in law and I worked out for the next hour, still with no G in sight anywhere and got changed.

As we passed by the desk on our way out, P called out to us. Seems she was so upset at the service I had received (we had mentioned what happened at the first and second appointments) she wrote a "very strongly worded" note to both the fitness manager and the overall gym manager about the situation. Wow. I heart P. We talked a few minutes and I have to say that the rest of the staff at the west end WHC in Edmonton (especially V, R the fitness manager, and P) are fantastic. Shame that my experience has been so tarnished by one lousy trainer who could care less if I show up.

And what was the event that G wanted to make it to this afternoon? A friends graduation? A funeral? Wedding? Studying for final exams? Nope nope nope and nope. It was ... wait for it ... a paintball tournament. Yep, paintball. I was politely being pushed aside so he could shoot his buddies in the meat and two veg with balls of paint. Nice.

Oh. My. God.

Unbelievable. I hope some sort of disciplinary action is taken with this guy, because he obviously doesn't seem to give a sh*t about his job or the people he's supposed to be working with. I hope you get your third session, too. Perhaps with someone different? And I'm glad the staff have realized something's up with this guy.

G really doesn't take his responsibilities seriously. And I think you have been MORE than accomodating and understanding. Enough is enough.

You can at least hope that G was the one getting shot in the meat and two veg during the paintball tournament.

You would think he knew about this long enough in advance to reschedule with you, no?

Your trainer's a prick, Karen. Did you know that?
