Is it my birthday already?

I received another parcel today. Now, I was expecting a parcel so it wasn't too much of a surprise. After work, my brother (fabulous dude that he is) dropped me off at the post office to mail my parcel to Red and *Asterisk. I also had a few CD's to send out and had received notification that my order from Amazon had arrived. As I was heading out the door, the clerk called after me that I had a second package waiting and did I want to pick it up now. Hmmm. What on earth could that be?

Turns out it was a parcel from my good friend J who lives in BC. Now, I knew she was going to ship me some DVD's but I didn't realise she had sent them already. I hope she (and you) will forgive me as I forgot to take a picture of the box and the contents all spread out. And it's too late now as I've opened some of the items and eaten a few of the goodies! J is very artistic and creative. She also knows how much I want to travel so she addressed the parcel to the HMS Swiftsure (C/o me, naturally) and covered all the sides in various art-deco aviator stickers. Fabulous. She also drew two stick figures wearing classic leather aviator jackets (representing her and I). I didn't want to open it and ruin the great job she did but curiousity killed that cat pretty quickly. Inside was a giant stack of DVDs! YAY! Some fake tattoos (since I can't get any new real ones anytime soon), a bunch of trial size goodies from Burt's Bees natural products, popcorn, chocolate, green tea, some bath products, cat treats (which were quickly destroyed), a package of Mr. Noodles (that'll go to my cubicle mate at work), and a package of Shake'n'Bake Herb and Garlic potato seasoning (does she know me or what!).

Thank you so much J! I sent you a CD today which I hope you enjoy (it's very "me").

And it seems that J took the arrival of Red and *A's package as a contest and she is not one to be outdone. On the inside lid of the box she wrote "So...how's THIS for a care package?" I love her!

Hey, just catching up on all I've missed since moving and being off line. Nice to get a parcel, eh? BTW, the book I ordered with your Amazon gift certificate came in, so thanks once again for that.

Man, oh, man, but that is the best giftbox ever. I luuuv Burt's Bees stuff, green tea, etc. I need your friends to be my friends.

Anyhoodle, onto the shoe topic. If your local shoe pal doesn't want 'em, I'll send you a cheque for the shipping to the States!

By the way, have you had a chance to watch The UK Apprentice yet? Do you like it? Do you love Sralan? Would you like us to keep sending it to you? We have been taping it anyway, so it wouldn't be a problem to put another few eps on a DVD. It's getting good and things are heating up... it's all I can say about it!
