Where in the World is Captain Karen Sailing Off To?

Tuesday, May 01, 2007
After much careful thought, some wishful thinking, and a review of my current and upcoming financial situation, I believe I have made a decision about a vacation. This fall, possibly late fall, I will be jetting off for an exciting week full of…stuff. I’m not going to give away the exact location yet or the time frame as I haven’t actually booked yet (I want to wait for the official passport to arrive). However, I can tell you that the destination is full of history which is a big must for me, and it should be a week long fun filled adventure for this girl from a small-town in the Canadian prairies.

There was a lot of internal debate about the type of trip to take. There was a thrilling two week trek through Nepal (including white water rafting) that I desperately wanted to go on. However, until I’m positive that my blood pressure could handle the altitude (not to mention the adrenalin rush), it’ll be put in the “To Do” file. There was the possibility of jetting off somewhere to meet fellow bloggers and enjoy a margarita or two. I was also tempted by the lure of palm trees and cool breezes. Mountains cried out to be climbed. Oceans to be sailed. You'll just have to be patient...I'm going to have to wait too!

Can't wait to find out where you will go! Holidays are fun, aren't they? (Planning them almost as much as actually being on one.)

Of course Moose Jaw is off the list, Kelly! Sheesh, can't you tell Karen is talking about Porcupine Plains?

Hope that passport arrives really soon. Nothing like that new passport smell to get the blood pumping.

Oooohhh....sounds mysterious! Hey, are you travelling alone? If you are thinking of going alone...not that it's any of my beeswax...but...

I noticed on the Mountain Equipment Co-op newsletter that they have a site for hooking people up with travelling buddies. I just thought that was suh an incredible web service! I don't know, maybe you might like to check that out?
