Running Walking Scared...

As you can see by the counter I've added to the top, there is now less than a month until the much anticipated half marathon. Yikes!!!!! Don't suppose anyone wants to stand in for me? Just kidding. It's a bit hard to put into words but I'm getting sooooooooo excited about it! I'm really looking forward to waking up insanely early, slapping on my running shoes, pinning on my numbered bib, and taking my place at the starting line. And I'm not the only one. Mom, despite her shock this morning when I told her there were only 28 days left, is having trouble containing her enthusiasm. We've got the BBQ afterwards (mostly) planned - still waiting for word from my brother in law and his dad...I could be waiting a long time for them to get back to me. And the three girls (remember, my favourite Auntie B is running the 1/2) have plans to get together on the day after for drinks and lunch. Oooh it's going to be a good weekend!

I also had a very encouraging talk with a coworker yesterday. He heard that I was doing the Energy Capital Half Marathon (part of the larger ING Marathon) and came by my office to chat about it. Seems he had taken part last year and even managed to finish at the top of his age group!!!! He gave me some great tips on the course which should really help and talked about his experience. It was extremely encouraging as he's a big guy and while he found it challenging, still managed to finish in great time. I'm looking forward to proving to myself that I can do it, and having fun at the same time.

Just a reminder, for anyone who would like to sponsor me by donating to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, you can still do so by clicking HERE.

That's so exciting. Have a great run! Enjoy every minute of it because it will go by faster than you think.
Sounds like you've got a great weekend planned.

I'm sure you'll finish both in one piece and in a good time! Nice to have some encouraging words from your co-worker, too. You are going to be FINE!

Marathon sounds so much fun, even better supporting a charity, esp. kids.
