My Summer is Officially Over

Monday, September 03, 2007
With approximately 10 1/2 hours to spare, I finished my Summer Reading Challenge and read 20 books. Ok...19 and the first 200 pages of War and Peace but that was my goal. There were a number of books I'd started and then stopped throughout the summer, so when you combine them all, it might add up to 21 or 22 but they don't count. All that matters is I finished!

War and Peace is going to be this year's Don Quixote. Definately one of those books I'm going to have to read a bit at a time, then put it down, and pick up something else. It's a fabulous book but there is so much happening on every page, and (as expected) more characters than the Bible (and almost as long...).

The Fall Reading Challenge is now under way but anyone who's interested can sign up at any time. Not sure if I'm going to actually finish War and Peace along with the other books on my list by the end of November as scheduled, but I'll give it all I've got.

Wow, that's a lot of reading! Good for you. Perhaps follow up War and Peace with Crime and Punishment...it'll seem like a quick read.

THanks :) Funny you should mention C&P, Mr. A, I actually read it last year. I loved it except for the ending which sucked.
