More Frustration

I wasted an hour of my time, a near perfect temperature bubble bath, and twenty bucks this afternoon. Crappy dappy doodle. Remember how I bought a book this morning to make up for the fact that the one I ordered wasn't in? Well, it didn't work out quite like I hoped. It was terrible. I mean really bad. The book I bought was one I'd had my eye on for a while called Horse: How the Horse has Shaped Civilizations by J. Edward Chamberlain. The title is a bit misleading. After spending an hour trying to become interested, I knew I couldn't continue. In between going off on philisophical tangents about the beauty of the horse, it soon became apparent that Chamberlain wasn't giving the reader any real information. I'm sorry but could you get to just how exactly the horse shaped even one civilization? Please? I don't think that's too much to ask to tackle within the first 50 pages of a book that's only 259 pages long. I will NOT be recommending this book. I did, however, learn one thing.

Weirdly enough, I already knew that horses can't hurl (but only because rabbits can't either...I think they're the only two animals that can't). This makes hairballs tricky.

Sorry you had a dud...at least you had the sense to put it down, unlike me who feels compelled to finish crappy books for no apparent reason!

but horses CAN fart.....and it sounds like the author planted a big one.

I hate having crummy books...I usually only give them a couple of pages and if we're not feeling the love, the book goes away (usually just back to the library).

I will never take the blame for possibly reading a book with half a brain. It's never my fault. I will always blame the book.

Well, you learn something new every day, don't you? Incidentally, we have sent you a lil' parcel last week, containing a book that I hope you will enjoy...

Wow - I exile myself for a few days and soooo much happens over here!

A dud book is never a good thing; I'm sorry you spent the bucks and were disappointed.
