Turkey Day Update

Monday, October 08, 2007
I have awoken (albeit early) from the turkey/pie coma...survived another holiday. Whew. However I failed to mention a few things. There were fewer guests than originally expected. Both the brother in law and his half sister failed to show up and a couple, along with their two kids, ended up heading out of town to visit their family for the holiday. I must say, I'm thankful for the smaller crowd. My neice hugged me a number of times while we were enjoying our tea after dinner and she's a lot like her auntie - not really a touchy feely sort of person. It made my evening. And, as usual, we ended the evening with a few rounds of one of the many role-playing card games both my brother/sister in law and our close friend Uncle Rudi have in their possessions. Last night's choice? A new one for us: Lord of the Fries. Naturally it features food and the undead. I won the first go and came in second on the next. I can't wait to see what we attempt at Christmas!

Food and the undead? My two favourite things! Lord of the Fries sounds brilliant.

Board games...now that really is one of the defining aspects of Canadian thanksgiving!

Sounds like a fun day...we are having turkey dinner tonight...hopefully we won't die we had to thaw it in bucket of water because store was sold out we are losers unorganized at ordering the turkey in time!

Right now I am at an internet cafe while doing laundry...how is that for Thanksgiving?
