If I had a vote...

...in the American Democratic race, I'd likely vote for Bill Richardson. Dennis Kucinich is a pretty close second - anyone who readily admits to seeing a UFO, and is running for president, can't be all that bad. Note that this decision is based purely on the few minutes of the Nevada debates I managed to catch last night. Frankly I found Clinton and Obama annoying, and Edwards made me cringe every time he opened his mouth. Bidon? Who's Bidon? As for Richardson, he's got real international experience including the ability to negotiate, he wants to get troops out of Iraq, he supports Roe v. Wade, and he's got a multicultural background (Mexican-American) which, given the current situation regarding illegal immigration, provides him with a perspective that I think most of the other candidates don't have. However, the possibility of someone other than Clinton or Obama winning the Democratic nomination is pretty slim.

I don't know much about the candidates and what their platform to get elected is, but I would dearly love to see a woman president. Go Hillary!

Kucinich is my first choice because his positions on the issues are close to my own. But my second choice would be Richardson despite his being in bed with the National Rifle Association.

My mother thinks Richardson is the best candidate also. However he doesn't have the money backing that Clinton and Obama do so your assessment is probably correct. Biden - I can't help but laugh when I see him showing off those lumeniers. I think Edwards had a bad night - everyone was remarking on him not talking to the issues at hand. Clinton and Obama worry me. Kucinic - I always liked what he has to say - but he needs a physical revamp - I noticed they cleaned Edwards up a lot after his first run with Gore - new hair, worked on that speech impediment - it's going to be interesting.

Oh darn, it's not our Bill Richardson (from CBC). That would be a good campaign.

I'd love to see CBC Bill Richardson in the race. I too thought of him when I read your post.
