Reading Challenge Update

Tuesday, November 06, 2007
The Fall Reading Challenge is almost over, less than a month to go, and it’s been a great success! A giant thanks to everyone who signed up. Fourteen bloggers have posted a whopping 36 reviews so far!!!! And that doesn’t count all the books that we’ve started but stopped (for various reasons) or are still currently reading. Stop on by and check out what our bloggers have to say. You never know, you might just find that next great book to add to your own library!

And, as the challenge is coming to a close, we’re gearing up to kick off our newest idea – the Winter Reading Challenge!!! Ok, so it’s not the most original of titles but its self explanatory and hopefully won’t confuse people. The blog is still in the creation stage but if you check it out and have any feedback you’d like to offer, please feel free to do so. Also, I’m taking suggestions for ways to spice up the “challenge”….I’m thinking of something along the lines of suggesting/recommending a book you’d like a particular blog participant to read during the next three months. This could also involve a book exchange (it is the winter holiday season afterall). Nothing definite yet but please send along your suggestions.

You know that I'll be there! I will in all likelihood have a couple of books left over from the fall challenge to read yet anyway.

way to go!!! i would have had suggestions and might have participated ten years ago.....but my mind can no longer wrap itself around a book. this has been bamboozling for a person who used to have 4-5 books on the go at the same time. baffling.

I enjoyed checking out your blog. I'm a recent grad in Silicon Valley, and I've just started a company that is mapping the blogosphere to our world. Here is an example of a blogger in Georgia who's plugged in: http://www.verveearth.com/landing/#type=user&id=772. It can be fun to explore different localities.

It's an easy process to get on board, and I can be reached at clayton@verveearth.com for questions or feedback. If you resonate with the vision of painting a global canvas of voices, please give VerveEarth a mention.

Cheers! –Clayton

Sorry, my brain has been having a few low functioning days. I really did enjoy the reading challenge - I thought I wasn't reading, and it was interesting when I paid attention to the number of books, and in an organized manner I was reading quite a bit.

Hey, lookin' good so far! I'm feeling festive now.

Most of my fall reading list will probably end up on my winter list, I'm sorry to say. I'm slower than I thought I'd be. Or maybe my eyes are just bigger than my brain.

It sounds like a good idea! I've just joined a book club at work (which will also have a blog component), but I'll save room for the winer challenge.
