Secret Blog Santa

Saturday, December 22, 2007
In the spirit of the holidays, I signed up for Zaius and Monkerstein's Simian Secret Santa. I'm all about spreading the love around. Dr. M threw all the participants into his jolly Santa hat and matched us up. My secret Santa? Randal of L'ennui Mélodieux. When Dr. M told me, I was a bit stumped as I'd never actually visited Randal's blog but I'd seen him around the bloggies, leaving comments here and there (he's quite witty). I don't know much about Randal but it seems he's all about the music. Plus he's into history and the classics, and a fan of John Carpenter. To top it off, he seems slightly anti-republican. That makes me a fan of Randal. AND! He got me a fabulous gift for the holidays! Who cares if it won't fit in my stocking...I'll just take them off. Uh oh. Hopefully Santa doesn't read my blog or I'm destined for the naughty list.

What to get Randal? A quick review of his blog reveals plenty of posts about music - everything from Cheap Trick to Tchaikovsky (ah those Russians...we all know how much I love them!). Therefore it seemed only fitting that his gift fit into that theme. So, in the spirit of the holidays, I offer this gift pack of my favourite Christmas albums for him to enjoy.

Because for many of us, the holidays are truly horrific...

The holidays aren't the same without a little Tito...

Cheesy cheetah-licious Christmas

A little something from south of the border.
Think outside of the bun when listening to this little gem.

A classic album with some classic tunes. Enjoy.

This one always reminds me that I'm just like a candy cane - sweet and twisted. Rock on.

For the kid in all of us...have the fireplace lit and ready to recieve this little number. Chances are that's where it will end up after the first track.

Christmas isn't Christmas without the 'Hoff...

And this is going to haunt my dreams for years to come....

Happy Holidays Randal from the Captain and her crew.

After I stopped laughing, I wondered whether to be appalled or impressed. Given my utter disdain for the holidays, no present could've encapsulated that loathing better than this collection of the finest Christmas music birthed in the very depths of hell itself. Color me quite impressed, and I bow to the Captain. Merci, mon amie. :)

Wow, you give some awesome gifts, Captain.

I wasn't sure when we were supposed to post these. I guess now, eh?
