Hello me fellow bloggies! The weekend is almost here and I’m so happy! What was I thinking saying I’d work the three days between Christmas and New Years??? Not next year I say. Nope, there’s just no will to do anything when there’s no one around and it doesn’t help when there’s not the usual slow trickle of work that I get on most days.

I’m going to be spending my weekend as I had intended to spend my Boxing day – in my jam jams, snuggling with the cats on the couch and watching movies and reading (hopefully with a couple of rows of knitting thrown in for good measure). On the schedule for this weekend is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Fido (because you just HAVE to have a zombie movie), McLibel, and the new Hairspray. If I have the energy or the desire, I might also watch a few episodes of season 2 of Lost (I STILL haven’t finished it yet!).

As for the reading, I’ve started on The History of Mistresses which, so far, is pretty good. The author has taken a few famous mistresses from various eras and grouped them together to depict how the male-female non-marital relationship has changed through time, and differs between cultures. Quite fascinating really. She’s also written a book on The History of Celibacy which I may have to check out once I’m done. The Captain fits perfectly into one of the two books – I’ll let you figure out which one.

So, now that the holidays are mostly over, what are your plans for the last weekend of 2007?

We'll be spending the weekend socializing. Hopefully on Sunday we can kick back, relax, watch some movies and read.

Dr. M - Always make time for the little monkey inside yourself. He needs recharging now and then.

Shea - It was your post about it that brought it to my attention. Just paying homage to 'da king.

The Harry Potter movies are always so much fun to watch, and yes you always need a zombie film thrown in there. I still haven't been able to rent Fido yet, but we did dig out Shaun of the Dead to watch again the other day.

We'll be working a good chunk of the day today, which blows. On the plus side, we have Guitar Hero due to arrive in the post sometime this morning, so Sunday will be spent riffing away! Rawk!

I'll be writing bad poems and watching the meaningless Browns game in between bouts of seething at last week's meaningful Browns game. Hope you are having a good weekend!

That sounds like a great way to spend your weekend.
I worked today (Saturday). I have three days off now! I want to get one more run in for 2007 which will probably be Sunday. Surprise surprise db and I will be planning our New Year's menu.

Happy New Year.
