Not a lot to say still but thought I'd give you a quick update on what's been happening in the Captain's world.

Had a meeting at work where I heard something truly bizarre that pissed me right off regarding a job opening. Essentially a job opening I mentioned a while ago is going to be coming up probably in the next few weeks. However, we were told that HR has someone in mind for the job already... Um, what? I'm not going to get into the whole thing but needless to say it's sort of sorted itself out. Basically someone started talking about something they shouldn't have and wasn't relevant to the meeting without knowning what they were talking about in the first place. At least, that's the explanation I got when I talked to my supervisor today. Did you get that? I don't know if I buy the whole explanation but nothing I can do about it. After thinking about it, I'm not going to bother applying when it comes open.

I haven't watched any movies lately so no new reviews to post although I have A Passage to India, Casablanca, a mountain climbing documentary courtesy of Red and *(Asterisk), and a couple of other interesting docs to watch this weekend. When I've had the desire to watch anything, I've been keeping busy with coverage of the American Republican and Democratic nomination races. Yes, still addicted. All three Republican candidates scare the crap out of me and I pray to all the gods that none of them make it to the White House. And it's interesting to see that Obama is giving Hillary quite the run for her money. Go Barack (because there's no Edwards anymore...).

On a completely different note (and one that might make some think I'm crazy), it looks like Mom and I will be moving into an apartment together this spring. Here that Dave? I guess it's my turn to take care of her for a while... tee hee. We've been chatting about the situation and it'll be helpful (financially) for both of us, but definately moreso for her and she really needs to save more money for her retirement in a few years. I get the bigger room, and will pay a bit more in rent. Mom's share will go down from what she's paying now and mine will stay the same which is fine. Expenses will be lower, it'll be nice to have the company PLUS we'll have a blacony and a dishwasher. Oh god...heaven. We're going to view a unit this weekend and will take some pics.

That's it. I've got nothing else. Except I finally got a bingo in Scrabulous today. And the Oilers have a new owner. And my lips are chapped. And my nose is alternating between crusty boogers and running nonstop. Other than that, nothing.

Your cats are funny! Do they allow you to touch their tummies when they're belly up?

You have quite a good rapport with your mum, though, no? And as long as you accept and respect each other's privacy, I don't see why it shouldn't work out better for both of you. Look forward to seeing the pics of your new place!

I have to admit you didn't hook me until the nose part. Thanks for sharing.

Very sweet looking cats.
It's tough trying to get anywhere in a job isn't it. I too heard of another posting coming up, but after my last experience there is no way I'm applying. Besides I really want to find something else.

Sounds like a good idea for both you and your mom.

You packed a lot of info into that last paragraph. Bravo.

It'll be nice for you to have the company, too. That's how I feel about sharing a place with my 'rents.
