Called EPCOR to cancel my service with them for the end of the month. Did you know they charge you to cancel your service???? So on top of moving costs, new damage deposit, boxes, takeout for lunch/dinner, and new hook up fees for just about everything, I've now got to shovel out an additional...$6.50 to get rid of my power!

Ok, so it's ONLY $6.50 but that's not really the point is it? Just another way for the big companies to grab our bucks.

I assume that you are moving? And not simply going off the power grid? New digs are always great.

I have never heard of this company, and I live in BC, where they claim to provide services. Maybe up north in the boonies? Even boonier than where I am? If such a place exists.

Anywho, yes, it is a money grab and it is ridiculous. But I'm not surprised.

Barb: yes I'm moving. I should probably announce that, huh?

WC, they're pretty much all over Alberta, not sure where in BC though. There are a couple of other options for power but they're small companies, not well known, and so, like Telus (until Shaw started offering phone service), Epcor has essentially a monopoly on the power supply here.

It sucks.
