Cats on a Hot Concrete Balcony

Hmmm, I wonder how I can catch the bus across the street?

I know better than to get too close to the edge. The Admiral likes to shoot water if we threaten to jump overboard...

What? I wasn't going anywhere...

Oh, how innocent they look, but who knows what's going on in those little minds of theirs?

The balcony belongs to them now, you know.

They want to jump don't they - and the bottom kitty looks oh so elegant, but he is definitely devising a plot of some kind.....

Scary high balcony! Cats are acrobats, but they are also very clever, so I'm sure none of your feline residents would dare dream of playing "let's fly". Even so, have you considered putting some netting around the balcony?

Or maybe that would make them even more inquisitive and try to go beyond the netting? Hmm... it's a difficult one. Do they jump on the actual bannister?

Red, we're definately going to put something along the bottom (about 6" high) so that they can still see but not stick their bodies through. fortunately, they have not yet tried to jump on the railing. I admit though it's one of my big fears.

The last cat picture is a very lynx looking cat. She or he is very sweet looking (as they all are of course).

We once lived in a place with a balcony where we put chicken wire up. We actually installed it the full height, which led to scaling of the chicken wire by one mischievous cat. It's nice for them to have such a sunny spot.
