Garden Update

The Zebra is so excited about the carrots that are popping up...he's salivating.

The mighty elephant detects the presence of a potential predator hiding amongst the foliage.

Ooooh sweet peas.

Lots and lots of lettuce.

A forest of carrots.

Cherry tomatoes from the balcony.

Bushels of beets.

Nice! I just went to check my garden out (again...I do it several times a day and I'm sure the neighbours wonder about it) and things seem to be sprouting quite nicely. Another bean plant has come up and another on the way. I do still have a cat problem, and one of my dill plants was the victim of some scratching over the night - I AM NOT AMUSED.

Very lush and tempting! Now I wish I had something besides rhubarb.

Looks yummy (except for the yucky beets)!

I have to admit that I think beets are yucky too.

How can anyone hate beets?? I LOVE beets! Pickled beets (my fave), roasted beets...I'm even going to try borscht this fall.

Everything looks amazing! Your garden is thriving and has attracted wildlife (a zebra and an elephant) that's a good sign.
I love beets as well. There is nothing like roasted beets. Plus they are such a beautiful colour.

Wow!! No hardtack for you and the admiral when those veggies come in! You'd be so proud of me...I'm reading Moby Dick.
