Too hot...

It's far too hot. The thermometer might only say 26 but the humidex is sitting at 31. That's celcius. Buses should have air conditioning and work should be cancelled when it gets higher than 27. Like a snow day but in reverse. Truthfully it's not THAT bad, I just like to complain about the heat because I don't like it. Hopefully though it'll lead to a thundershower tonight which would be awesome...provided it rains a fair amount. Otherwise it'll just be hot AND muggy and then you'll really hear me complain. I'm a nice person, honestly. How nice? Because it was too hot to even think about cooking, I ordered chinese food for my mother and I. See? This way she doesn't have to worry about cooking her dinner or cleaning up afterwards. Plus, ginger beef and spicy eight vegetables screams "I love you".

Back to work today, the regular job. I had a headache for most of the day but overall it was nice to be back chillin' with my peeps. There was plenty to do although someone had been thoughtful enough to do the mail everyday. It's good to be loved. Unfortunately someone had watered the plant on top of my desk (why it's there, I don't know...it's not even my plant). This is bad because the container it's in is NOT waterproof and it tends to leak all over the overhead bin which then drips onto my desk. I don't know how long it's been since they watered it as I've been away from my desk for 3 weeks. Let's just say that two binders and a bunch of contracts were soaked through and I spent part of the morning drying them in front of a fan. Grrrr.

Edgar Wright was interviewed on Q (CBC Radio) this afternoon. If his name doesn't sound familiar, he is (along with Simon Pegg) one of the geniuses behind Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Spaced. The big news (other than he's filming a version of comic book superhero Ant-Man) is that the DVD version of Spaced is being released on Tuesday (July 22)!!! Oh sure, you can watch both seasons on YouTube but there's something special about being able to pop a DVD into the machine, curl up in your favourite comfy chair with a bowl of popcorn and a blankie, and spend the evening watching the wacky antics of Tim, Daisy, and all their friends. I'll have to remind my family that my birthday is coming up in January...hint hint.

I never got into Spaced. I tried but it didn't do anything for me.

Gasp! Dr. M, you never got into Spaced? (*faints*). Oh well, I suppose it's not for everyone. I didn't enjoy Hot Fuzz all that much while lots of people found it hilarious.

Barb: you should be able to catch it still on Q's free podcast through the CBC website. Pssst! It looks like folks are setting up for the folk fest...

WC: No. Not at all. In fact, I'm way ahead of you. I'm looking forward to winter.

Pokecheck: Um, no offense, but despite the fantastic BBQ you offered in your interview, I think I'm going to have to pass. That's just evil-hot. How on earth can you keep the ice from melting????
