Badda Bing Badda Boom - She knits!

The puzzle about the family generic gift exchange has been solved....we're not doing it. Too easy. This means I can now put together a stocking for the Admiral full of little goodies and another one for the felines. Don't ask. But now I have another problem...

I've decided to work my way through the entire series of the Sopranos (fuggedabowtit). This will mean I have plenty of time to knit while getting my fix of Paulie and his walnuts...I mean Paulie Walnuts (what can I say, there's something sexy about Tony Sirico). The problem is that I'm sick and tired of mittens, hats and scarves. And frankly, I'm a bit tired of knitting for other people. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the smiles my little homemade gifts bring people but with the exception of a pair of test mittens I made about a month ago, I've never really made anything for myself and I think it's about time. But what to make?

Anyone out there have any suggestions that aren't tooooo complicated? Keep in mind I'm a low-level intermediate knitter, I don't do cables, and I don't want to make a shawl (made a few of them already this year). Help! And no, it doesn't have to be Sopranos-themed or require yarn from New Jersey...

I don't know what cables are. Do you have cables in jumpers? If not, a jumper's always nice. Alternatively, you could knit yourself a little blantie so you can snuggle under it with the kitties while watching The Sopranos...

I've never knitted anything for me either. What's up with that?

Dr. M: Ewwwwwww.

Kelly: I found a pair of cute lace boy shorts with ribbon on the sides that had me soooooo tempted!

Poke: Oh if only I had an iPod to knit for. Alas...

Milla: Have you ever tried to put socks on a cat? I don't recommend it but the kittens thank you for thinking of them first!

Cynnie: Like the boy shorts, I surprisingly also came across a thong pattern! It too looked pretty but if there's no one to wear it for...bummer.

Red: Cables are those gorgeous raised bumps/vines you find in Aran sweaters. I'd love to be able to do them but they scare me. The blanket's an interesting idea but I think something smaller is on order first.

tshsmom: I know! That's us knitters for ya, always thinking of others :)
