I hate the sweater pattern. I find it confusing and not because I don't know what I'm doing. It's aggravating and, frankly, it pisses me off. Mostly because I spent $60 on yarn that I know have to find a new pattern for or it will have been a waste. Arrgggh, says I. Still waiting to get my hands on a copy of Last Minute Knitted Gifts so I can have a look at the pattern for the hourglass sweater. When made properly, it should look like ... well ... an hourglass. Even the sleeves have a bit of a bell shape to them. Supposedly fairly simple to make, knit in the round which I love so it'll go fast (hence the name of the book....). Fingers crossed. I should have listened to the other bloggers who hated the Lucky Clover pattern. Sheesh. I was blinded by it's cuteness.

Tomorrow, I'm only at work for 1/2 the day. The admiral has to have a medical procedure done and they need to knock her out. The powers that be recommend someone take her to the appointment and pick her up so I'll be going with her to the hospital and then crossing the street to the mall for about an hour until it's done. She's been fairly anxious all weekend about it and is currently pretty bitchy, mainly because she hasn't eaten since late last night and won't get to eat again until dinner time tomorrow night. Poor thing. She's had to take some sort of laxative tonight and unfortunately for her (and myself and the cats...eeewwww) she's been in and out of the bathroom every so often.

Other than that, things are well aboard the Swiftsure. Not much else to report.

I wonder if anyone does free-association knitting...I mean making it up as you go along, changing the pattern, making it chaotic? Just thinkin.

I'll be thinking of the Admiral. Not eating will make anyone cranky. Just try to stay out of her way and let her blow off as much steam as she needs to!
