It looks like a sweater...sort of.

Up at an ungodly hour this morning. What's a girl to do? Watch the news? It's all about recession, Liberal leadership races, and what Bush regrets now that he's out of a job. Sigh. Depressing. Instead, I pulled out the knitting, turned on the laptop, and decided to watch an episode or two of Have I Got News for You. As you can see from the picture, an much thinner David Mitchell was hosting this particular episode which included discussion on people in the UK attacking Santa and his elves, police raiding MP's offices, and Liz Hurley's hairy breasts. Very entertaining. The "sweater" is actually starting to take some shape. The body is about 1/2 finished - made all the decreases to give it a waist and am starting the increasing stage to make room for my boobies. I'm not sure how I feel about it other than it's going to be a heavier sweater than what I had hoped for. Perhaps it was the yarn I used - the knitting store folks said I could use any worsted weight yarn so I picked one in a colour I wanted. There was no way I could afford to get enough balls in the highly expensive Cash Noro something or other the pattern called for. Oh well. I'll use this as a test sweater. If I like the way the pattern turns out, I'll go back and get something lighter and softer to make a top I can wear all year round.
