Recommendations?

The Admiral is currently saving up her coinage towards her dream trip to Egypt. It's going to take her a couple of years but I'd like to get a digital camera for her birthday next December so that she can get used to using one, downloading her pictures, using Flickr, etc. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? There are a few conditions which MUST be met:

1. It must be under $200 (I'm going to ask Big Brother if he'd like to split it with me)
2. It must not have a lot of bells and whistles - SIMPLICITY when it comes to the user is key.
3. It must have anti-shakey hands thingy. You know what I mean.

My Sony Cybershot fits most of those items but it doesn't have the anti-motion/shake feature. And there are too many options for her on the dial.

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ8 is all of those things and I totally love it. I still haven't figured out all of the bells & whistles on it, either, and it's got plenty.

Wait till next December to buy it unless you are going to give it to her now. As you know the world of electronics changes rapidly and prices drop as new models come out. You research the bejeesus out of it till then and get the pre-next christmas discounts on this years models, or get a better model than you might grt now.
