Back To Work

Starting to feel a bit better today; not great but a bit better. Probably helps that I've managed to get 8 hours of sleep both Friday and Saturday night. I NEVER get that much sleep. And it doesn't include the naps in the middle of the afternoon today and yesterday. That and drugs. Lots of Advil and plenty of Neo Citron to know me senseless. Unless I've got my arms wrapped around the toilet in a loving embrace tomorrow morning, I'm back at work.

Canada is once again into the Gold Medal round of the IIHF Junior Hockey Championships. Woo hoo. It's a rematch of last year's game - we're playing Sweden. Guaranteed to be a good game then. Yesterday's semi-final against Russia was, I'm told, a bit of a nail biter (I fell asleep at the start of the third period); much like the game against the USA earlier last week. However, the game starts at 5PM MST which means I have to head straight home after work and I'll be cooking dinner during the first period. Hopefully nothing too exciting happens in the first 20 minutes...

Managed to eat something substantial for dinner today - we skipped the Keg until next weekend as it was -30˚C on Saturday and I was still ooogey. I've been watching the most recent season of Survivor (Gabon) in anticipation of the new series starting in February (yes, I'm going to watch this time around) and it gave me a wicked craving for rice. I whipped up a red pepper, pea and parmesan risotto (delicious) and steamed some green beans which I topped with garlic butter and lemon juice. Yes, probably not the safest thing to eat considering how I've been feeling but it was so good. I'll probably be going to bed in an hour or so (yep, that would be 6:30....bed time for the past few nights!) so if it upsets my stomach, I won't really know about it.

Hope everyone else had an enjoyable, sick-free weekend.

So, what are you thinking about this group of Survivors? I thought they were quite possibly the biggest group of nasty shits that show has ever assembled in one place! I love Sugar, however. Still, I remained fascinated despite the fact that the cast left a lot to be desired. I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Sorry you're sick! That is total suckage! Hope you feel better soon!
