Help Wanted...

Tuesday, March 03, 2009
I'm in charge of creating a 10 question health and wellness quiz for participants in our office Survivor-style health challenge and my mind has gone blank. Any suggestions? I've managed to come up with four questions so far. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Our challenge covers fitness, nutrition, mental health/relaxation, smoking and donating blood.

Thanks!

Jeez, I'm drawing a blank, too. Is it multiple choice?

Hey there WC, yes it can be multiple choice. I actually only need two questions now and I should be able to figure something out for those two tonight or tomorrow. It was tough though...whew.

Hmm, also drawing a blank. The only thing I've consumed today is coffee, so my health chi is a little off anyway...

Oo - don't forget a multiple choice question that asks about normal BMI ranges.

And then you need a final question with a number in case there's a tie-breaker.

How often can you donate blood?

Have you had your blood pressure recorded lately?

BP readings are the best early indicators of risk for heart attack and stroke. Given that my wife had a stroke 2 months ago - I'm really endorsing this idea now!

Heart attack and stroke continue to be among the biggest causes of early mortality for many Canadians.

Luckily, my wife is back up and at it and for last two nights we've been out skiing. All the skiing, kayaking, running (4 marathons), walking, cycling she did before her stroke has helped her out big time.

Her BP was outta wack and she didn't do what she should of done - meanwhile she did everything else right. What she should have done was taken medication for high BP like her twin sister has been doing for 10 years.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR BP RECENTLY (or within last year) - that's my contribution to your health check.
