Make Myself a Sweater - Take 2

Wednesday, April 29, 2009
So... I'm no longer allowed to shop at River City Yarns by myself. My bank account took a huge wallop today when I went in to pick out my supplies. However, I am happy in the knowledge that once complete, my sweater will be super duper soft and look gorgeous. I ended up getting 6 skeins of Misti Alpaca in Parsley. And I hate parsley. The herb that is. The colour is fantastic!! Thrown into my bag along with the silky soft goodness that will be my sweater was a new circular needle, some stitch markers and rubber stoppers for the ends of my needles. The only thing I didn't get was buttons but I'll pick those up later. I'm hoping to get a test swatch tonight and will start on the actual sweater tomorrow night. Yippee!!!

One unexpected downside? The cats have gone bananas over the alpaca. This does not bode well for my knitting in the near future.

Busy busy busy at work; so busy I'm working on Saturday (my choice). That means CD's, snacks and comfy clothes. Other than that, I'm reading, watching hockey playoffs and sleeping. Still too cold to do much gardening but we're expected to get a "heat wave" this weekend ... 18 or 19C by Sunday!

Hope all is well in Blogland!

Beautiful colour, I agree.

I hate working on Saturdays and when I am on the rota I always try to give my work away to someone and noone ever wants it! I wonder why...

Cats and knitting are going to make an interesting combination. Maybe you need to lock them on the balcony while you knit. No, bad idea.
