Victoria Day

It's snowing.

Spent most of the day today in my jammies doing a whole lotta nothing. Ok, that's not quite true - I went to the mall and bought myself a little waffle maker and some Twizzlers. And I did watch a few hours of documentaries on WWII while knitting. The sweater is coming along quite well although I had my first big screw up today. After moving the sleeve stitches onto scrap yarn (I'll knit the sleeves later), I was supposed to add 7 new stitches in two places but didn't realize it until I had finished the row. Shit. There was NO way I was going to go back and unravel the row and add the stitches on the redo so ... I just added them on the return row. I know that's not the smartest thing to do but it was the best solution I had (Heather, I hope my knitting faux-pas has not made you ashamed of me and my sad knitting skills). I also grabbed some fabulous buttons a while ago but you'll have to wait and see what they look like when the sweater's done.

Speaking of Heather, she's compiled her summer reading list and let me tell's impressive. I don't know where she finds the time to sleep, knit, or work. However daunting her reading list seemed to me though, I've decided to put my own list together. Not sure how far I'll get through it but at least it gives me something to aim for. So, without further ado, here goes nothing:

Floating Brothel - Sian Rees (NF)
Thunderstruck - Erik Larson (NF)
The Bloody White Baron - James Palmer (NF)
The Lost City of Z - David Grann (NF)
Justinian's Flea - William Rosen (NF)
Earth Abides - George R. Stewart (F)
Small Gods - Terry Pratchett (F)
A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens (F)
The Zombie Survival Guide - Max Brooks (F)

So...what are YOU reading this summer?

I shall be reading all the books that are stacked up unread from the winter.

My list is ambitious, I'll admit...but the textbooks don't count. I'm not entirely sure I'll make it all the way through, either.

I don't have a reading list, but yours looks good.

I can't wait to see the sweater.
