Slow and Lazy

That's how my weekend has been. I went through the usual weekend duties: laundry, groceries, cleaning. The remainder of my time? Quiet. Reading, watching Oz, knitting, napping. I lead such an exciting life, don't I? I did spend 40 minutes on the treadmill today which felt good but that is about as active as I'm going to get. In an effort to get back on the healthy eating wagon (which I not only fell off of last week but was promptly run over by it, and then had the driver back up and park on top of me), I made myself a whole wheat pita pizza for lunch today. Topped with a teeny amount of marble chedder (NOT the best cheese for pizza, FYI), pineapple and sauteed onions and red peppers. I even made my own sauce with some tomato paste (salt free!), water and oregano. Mmmmmmmm.

In the United States today, Congress is voting on Obama's health care plan. Sweet Baby Bejeebus, I hope it passes. It seems so strange to me that the two sides can't come together to hammer something out which will satisfy everyone and provide the healthcare that country so desperately needs. I'm fortunate to live in a country where we have universal health care, even though it's not quite perfect. The Democrats are saying they're confident they have enough votes for it to pass. Fingers crossed that they're right.

Hot on the heels of the numerous earthquakes which rocked the planet recently, a volcano in Iceland erupted. Face it, the world is about to end.

Former Alberta Premier Ralph Klein's antics never seem to end. He's apparently hosting a game show where he sits in, get this, a big red throne (no surprise there...he always thought of himself as King Ralph). Thankfully, the network only approved 2 episodes before they evaluate the response. Makes me wonder if he's drinking again...

He's either drinking again or he should be.
