The Captain's A-Twitter

Monday, August 02, 2010
So, I am officially a Twit. If you're on twitter and want to follow my nonsensical ramblings, you can do so by clicking HERE. I'm not sure how often I will "tweet" (gawd, I hate that phrase), but at least I've joined the 21st century. I'm always so behind on this sort of thing. Ah well. There you go.

Not much else happening in my neck of the woods. Its been hot and muggy here in Edmonton. The Eskimos finally won their first game of the season...and finally fired Danny Maciocia. Yay. Mom and I are going to the game against the Argos on Friday. Its supposed to be 28 and, you guessed it, muggy.

The fabulous Dr. H's office called last week and scared the bejeezus out of me. Turns out, I'm just due for my annual checkup and I need to schedule a series of bloodwork, urine, and an ECG. Whew. I'm sure work will be pissed that I have to take two mornings off in the course of two weeks (followed by a dietician appointment the week after) but that's they're problem. And no, I won't be blogging the details of my annual poke and prod.

I've had an extra long weekend - today is a civic holiday here in Alberta, aka Heritage Day. I had also taken Friday off so I ended up with a four day weekend! Yippee for the Captain. I've spent it knitting, reading, and watching mindless television. Sigh. I need a life.

The annual violation guidelines have changed in Alberta...once every three years if you've been having clear results. Hurray! I swear it lowered my nervous blood pressure by a bunch of points just hearing that.

I have no idea what I'd say on Twitter? I post on my blog almost every day, and I'm happy to have kept that up for a long time, but it's enough for me.

Twitter is not something that I could ever see myself wanting to join. Not unless I was in the habit of being on site at breaking news events. Oh and if I actually carried a cell phone.

Well, I have pretty much given up on Twitter...I will follow you, though! I just don't tweet much anymore unless it's a book review for Random House!
