To Tweet or Not To Tweet - Part 2

Monday, August 16, 2010
It has now been 2 full weeks of being on the Twitter. I'm not sold. I don't really get it. Perhaps I'm just not hip or cool enough to fully grasp just what its all about. Certainly my lack of knowledge when it comes to new technology or the latest iFad is a hindrance. And now I'm finding myself torn. Part of me is considering going back to Facebook despite the issues I have with them. At least there is more of an interactive element (from what I can see) to Facebook and most of the people I keep in touch with aren't on Twitter but are on FB. Sigh...

Tell me, what should I do?

Well, I am not going to tell you what to do...But I will say that I have given up on Twitter because it was just doing nothing for me and was not the least bit satisfying.

I don't get Twitter either. And Facebook drives me nuts most of the time.

Twitter and Facebook are my connections to the outside world while I'm at work. I follow a lot of friends and hockey fans on Twitter and I get a lot of laughs, info and hockey news that way. I also get instant local headlines because I follow our local paper and they tweet often. And I have reconnected with a number of old friends thanks to Facebook. Love both of them. I find them very interesting, useful and entertaining.

I also know people who expect too much from these free applications and also put too much pressure on themselves to post often. They are there to enjoy, not add more pressure to your life.

Twitter does nothing for me either. I just don't need that much information at my fingertips all of the time.
