France is on Strike

Monday, October 18, 2010
Despite getting almost no coverage on local news and little even on CNN (at least this morning), France is not a great place to be at the moment. In a response to pension reforms and other actions byt he Sarkozy government, truck drivers and oil refinery workers are striking causing thousands of gas stations around the country to run dry. According to the report by the BBC, the French government is taking measures now to protect their reserve supply. Cars are being burned, riots are taking place, rubber bullets are flying, and planes both in and out of Paris' airport are being cancelled or being told they MUST have enough fuel to return to their place of origin. Holy schnikee's Batman.
