John Denver

Monday, October 04, 2010
My buddy DTW recently posted a YouTube clip of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" over on Facebook. This got me thinking back to my childhood and the John Denver songs I remembered and loved. We had all heard the classics like "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" and "Take Me Home, Country Roads" but for me, Denver's discography was limited to one single album: Windsong. Released in 1975 when I was a wee tot of two and listened to it on and off until I left for university in the early 1990s. Below is my favourite song from that album, the title track. Man oh man, he had a wonderful voice.

Nice. His album with the Muppets is still my favourite Christmas music!

My husband and I were just talking about John Denver! I loved his lilting songs - brings back much nostalgia. Have been so remiss on blogging, I had to visit people tonight, er, I guess it is morning - and catch up some. So many years of visiting folks in blogspot, being a part of their lives - miss it - and think "dang Facebook" - but truly have been painting way more than ever and life has rolled over me.........realizing I've let go of some things that are valuable to me
