Sorry, I just can't come up with a witty title for today's post. Meh. Its been a long day and my brain is in Shut Down mode. I hope you'll forgive me just this once.

Look Janae ... you're not the only one who loves broccoli. My love affair with this fabulicious green veggie is continuing.

It certainly helps that its almost always covered in some sort of cheese product. Tonight I turned it from a bland stalk on the verge of going postal in my veggie crisper into this ...

Mmmmm, broccoli and shells covered in a homemade cheese sauce.

Honestly, it wasn't as good as it could have been. Its hard to adjust a recipe that serves 6 to a recipe for 1. Needed more cheese. Needed dry mustard - I used regular French's. I should have added red chili pepper flakes for a bit of a kick. For a first try though, I'm pretty thrilled. And much better for me than a package of Kraft Dinner. Yuck.

I felt pretty good all day. Started off with 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer for 1.93 miles. According to the display, I burned 313 calories. OMG. Yeah, baby! Feel the burn! Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt the treadmill again and see how my foot does. Cross your fingers.

Speaking of exercise, Mommikins told me today that she's "enjoying the jogging" she's doing on the treadmill. I almost fainted. Mom? Jogging? Enjoyment? Those three things don't belong in the same sentence. Yay Mommikins! I'm so happy for her. Once again though, just like our attempt at the half marathon a few years ago, she's miles ahead of me. Some days it feels like everyone is and I just keep suffering setback after setback. J2P3 is literally miles ahead of me in her running. Mom's jogging. I have a broken toe and have spent the last 2 months sidelined with no walking, let alone running. And I've got surgery coming up sometime this year (I'll know more in 2 weeks) so that'll set my training back even more. Sigh. Think positive, think positive! For now, I'm focusing on the excitement I'm feeling for Mom's realization.

Also, big welcome hugs to Hollywould, my first and only official Follower. YAY!!!!
