Interviews of the Not So Rich and Famous - Ep 22 - Davidson

The Interviews of the Not-So-Rich and Famous has returned! It’s been a while since our last round of interviews and I know you’re eager to get right into it so here we go… First up this time is Heather, affectionately known around here as the Davidson. She’s wacky, wonky, and a little bit weird and that’s BEFORE her morning cup of liquid caffeine.  I love her and her quirks though, and am happy to have her lead off our new round of interviews.

1. Name, current location, last beer you drank.
Why I'm Heather 'The Brain' Davidson, living currently in Gold Coast, Australia, and the last beer I drank was a Pure Blonde.

2. What are studying and why aren’t you doing it in Canada?
I'm getting a Masters Degree in Marketing, as well as my journeyman ticket in Australian life over the next year. I'm not doing it in Canada because why not? What a great opportunity and experience, and when else will I get a chance like this again?

3. Have you ever “squeezed the Charmin” despite repeated warnings not to?
I am actually an unmitigated rule follower. I never cut in line, j-walk, bike ride without a helmet, so I would NEVER squeeze the Charmin. The warning is there for a reason, my friends.

4. Now that you’re living in the land “down under”, have you tried vegemite? Would you consider posting a video of you trying it for the first time?
I have not tried vegemite! I'm not really wanting to, as I have gotten multiple warnings, but I also feel like the trip wouldn't be complete. None of my roommates have it, but as soon as I am somewhere it is available, I'll try it, and document the occasion. I'm not going to go out and buy a whole jar though, I'm on a student's budget!

5. You’re on a date with Justin Bieber. Give us all the juicy details.
Well, obviously the Biebs and I would have to go out in secret, as many of the woman he's courted in the past have recieved death threats, and I just can't deal with that kind of stress. I think he'd pick me up on his banana seat bike, and we'd double to the local malt shop. There we would split a double chocolate milkshake, and he'd tell me that my eyes look like the ocean, and that love is like the wind; you can't see it, but you can feel it. He'd pay, because he is a tiny millionaire, and then from there we'd head to his house and share hair and skin tips, better grooming ourselves till we looked our best. He'd have me home by 9pm, right at curfew, and we'd share a handshake goodbye. It would be magical.

6. Your blog is titled: Books and Beers. Which really comes first on your list of priorities?
It's a shifting priority! When I first got here, it was the Beers, because they were all new, and I had to try a few to really find which one spoke to me. Now, that I'm knee deep in assignments and starting group projects, the books are definitely taking the top billing. I would say I spend on average, about 5-6 days of the week with Books, but only 1-2 days with Beers. I also am trying to spend 1 day a week with another good friend, Beach, I'll let you know how that goes.

7. Which Harry Potter character would you be and why? What would you do differently than the books?
I would be Mr. Neville Longbottom. My reasons are varied! First of all, I'd get to have the word 'bottom' in my name. Also, I feel like besides Harry, Neville has the best heroes journey! You find out in book 5 that his parents suffered a tragedy similar, and maybe even worse (because they didn't get the release of death) to Harry's parents. I knew he would end up being a hero, and Book 7 proved it! I won't go into details, in case people haven't read it, but I love the confidence and bravery Neville gains throughout the whole tale. He's the chubby kid who loses his remembrall in book 1, and in book 7, that kid no longer exists! I think the only thing I would do differently from the books is if I was Neville, I'd marry Luna Lovegood. I always felt like there was something between them, and the fact that she ended up with some other guy, no good.

8. The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem. Tell us, Heather, how do you feel about Starbucks?
I feel warm and fuzzy about Starbucks! It is like coming home. I don't actually have one close to me at all here, as they are fewer and farther between, and I haven't been to a Starbucks in over a month. It's just not the same without Kasia. Also, back home Starbucks was one of those comforts that gives you the warm fuzzies, in light of the cold, dreary weather we have to contend with. The idea of drinking a hot cup of coffee here means only 1 thing to me: heatstroke.

9. What is the one thing you miss about home that you can’t get in the land of Oz?
PICKLES! Claussen's Dill Pickles, and Lays Dill Pickle chips. Seriously, the pickles here are bunk. What am I supposed to eat along with my sandwiches now!? Also, my adorable niece, a hug from her would be pretty spectacular. I have yet to find a child in the land of Oz who gives hugs like her, nor a mother who is as comfortable with me hugging her child as my Sister in Law is... weird.

10. You’re chosen to be on the next season of Survivor. Where is it set, and what three former castaways do you want to play against/with?
I have, and will maintain, that it would be totally awesome to see them do Survivor in a Canadian, or simalarly rugged landscape. They could do it in the summer, it gets pretty warm in the eastern states in the summer, so why not? I just think it would be a really neat departure, even just for one season. I would want to play with Boston Rob (Marqueses, All Stars, Heroes Vs. Villians, Redemption Island), because I just think he is the greatest, Ethan Zohn (Africa, All Stars), because I think he's dreamy, and Courtney Yates (China, Heroes Vs. Villians) because I think she is absolutely hilarious. We would decimate everyone else with our strategy, and good looks.

Great interview! Any person who picks Neville Longbottom is okay in my books, even if she did neglect to mention his awesome sweater vest.
