Morning Sweat Sessions

After feeling energized all day yesterday thanks to my morning elliptical session, I decided to hop on the treadmill early this morning in the hopes that it would do the same for me.  Fifty minutes later, I'd gone 2.38 miles and burned 255 calories.  Not to mention the great sweat I worked up.  Thankfully, I'm going out for lunch with a coworker today so I didn't have to worry about preparing one to take with me to the office.  Otherwise, I'd be incredibly far behind schedule and rushing to get ready in time - something I hate. 

I'm considering doing most of my cardio sessions in the morning - not only do I get that pumped up feeling I mentioned above but it'll free up more time in the evenings to blog, read, knit, and do the other things I want to do but don't.  It certainly doesn't help that I go to bed around 8 p.m. every night.   Yes, I'm one of those early to bed, early to rise folks.  Another benefit of the morning workouts?  Today I logged 5577 steps before 630 am.  I'm a machine.

Breakfast today was two English muffins with strawberry jam and peanut butter. Mmmmmmm.

Karen you inspire me! I want to exercise SO BAD it hurts! I am going to do it!!! Even perhaps tonight! But I would like to exercise in the mornings as well. I love that pumped feeling you're talking about. For breakfast try a whole wheat english muffin with almond butter (yum!) and plain greek yogurt with a spoonful of pureed pumpkin and slivered almonds, YUMMERS!

Don't get too inspired. I'm currently snacking on two-bite brownies and a coke, soon to be followed by lunch at Red Robin. Mmmmm. Not a big fan of the almond butter plus I have a nut issue. PB seems to be ok for now but who knows what'll develop in the future. I also developed a possible reaction to yoghurt last summer. Sigh. I think I'm falling apart. Never had the greek though, perhaps it will be ok as its not got all that processed crap in it.

It takes a lot of will power, at least for me, to get up and exercise in the morning. However, when I do the treadmill, I throw in an action/adventure movie on DVD, turn on the iPod shuffle and go to town. It helps a lot!
