A New Home

Saturday, March 12, 2011
Along with the new look and new name, I've decided to take my blog into the 21st century and have registered my own domain name.  I think that's what you call it, right?  You know, instead of XXX.blogspot.com, I have a new home at www.londonsfog.com.  Me.  The luddite.  I now have my own website.  I think I feel a bit nauseous.

I've often wondered how people go ahead and do that sort of thing and it turns out its really easy and relatively cheap.  Blogger allows you to register your own domain name through them for a measly $10USD a year (that worked out to $9.73CDN!).  Fortunately for me, the name I wanted was free and I might end up getting more traffic thanks to it being one letter away from the website of a famous clothing line known for its trench coats.  I can continue to edit, publish, etc through Blogger which is handy because I don't know the first thing about website design.

Some of you know that I have been writing at another blog, Fat Girl Walking, about my attempts at getting healthier, slimming down and working on my body image.  I've decided to import that blog and possibly my London in London blog from my trip 2 years ago and then delete the blog sites.  It doesn't make much sense to me to have all these blogs floating around since I share so much with y'all here anyways.  So, you're going to see more frequent posts but some of them will be about eating healthier, working out, how far I've walked on a particular day, etc.

Good stuff! I look forward to reading your posts more frequently, regardless of the topic.

I had no idea it was so cheap (and easy) to register your blog name. That's something I really should do.

I see your posts in Google Reader, and curiously enough, your change in url hasn't affected the subscription.

Some time ago, I have a three blogs going and then one day I thought, why am I compartmentalizing these different streams, and so I amalgamated when I moved from blogger to wordpress. I find it simpler and cleaner, and it means I'm posting more on my main blog because I'm not separating things out.
