The End is (maybe) in Sight

For the past few days, I have been over the moon.  You see, on Saturday, I ran again.  Not just a tentative 3/2 run either.  I picked up where I left off back in early December - three sets of run5/walk2.  And it felt amazing.  No tightness in my calves or feet, no knee pain, and I didn't feel like I was going to pass out.  I almost wept with joy that I was able to go back to where I was two months ago and my body remembered exactly what to do.  Heaven!

I have what I'm hoping will be my final physio appointment with Joyce tomorrow, at least in terms of my calf/feet issues.  Honestly, since I had the stomach flu two weeks ago, I have been slacking with my stretching and strengthening exercises.  I know, I know!  I'm getting back into the routine now but even having done next to nothing, my legs still feel great when I get on the treadmill.  Incredible.  I can't wait to get back on the track tomorrow (must remember to pack my watch AND a water bottle) and see how I do.

The progress with my legs has renewed my excitement about Toronto in October.  I almost forgot that I also have a 5K race to run this month.  You might remember I signed up for a virtual race before Christmas. Well, the race has to be run this month (February) so I'm sorting out when I figure I'll be ready to go for it. I'd like to get a few more consistent runs under my belt before attempting it but I'll get 'er done.  I even printed off my race bib yesterday!  Yes, I''m a running nerd.

Stay tuned!
